  1. hi there. watching your tutorials…thanks. I’m curious to know if you mix pop/rock and how much is the going rate (ball park…I wont hold you to it) for a mix of two guitars, bass drums plus some effects and bits. I mix myself (but I suck) and have some commercial releases coming up. Thanks CJ

    1. Hello CJ, My mixing fees depend on the project. The price will vary (per song) depending on how many songs I have to mix and if it’s for an independent artist or a label. To give you an idea, at the moment, for one song I start at $450 CAD/song (approx $350 USD)… If you’re interested, send me an email info@mixdownonline.com

  2. Hi Chris,
I now have my new PC with CB 9.5 installed.
Unfortunatly I lost your template link.
I applied for acces again but maybe since I´m already registered to your site, your system ignores me?
PLEASE send me the Mixing Template for Cubase again!

    Thans in advance

  4. Hi Chris. Working my way through The Ultimate Guide. I have a question about import media bay section, is the Hi Hat file you use Tech Hi Hats in Cubase 10, as I cannot locate it.
Not sure if this the correct place to post it, but would appreciate advice. Excellent tutorial.

  5. Chris:
I SO MUCH appreciate your videos and the online course. Been working my way through that course a little at a time. Thanks for updating that with Cubase 10 info. I wonder if you could let me/us know how you archive your finished projects (maybe a good topic for a video??). I also wonder what your thoughts are on the K-system of level meters. For a couple years now I have been setting my Cubase main output meter to the K-12 scale based on some information I read or saw. I did that partially in objection to the “loudness” emphasis these days. I’m a bit old school and a bit new school. I like to make my mixes loud but not at the expense of dynamic range. What do you use and why?? Thanks again!!

  6. Chris:
Thanks for your great videos. I learn a lot from them. The question I have is a fairly simple one. I am not using the Control Room (and perhaps I should). I am using a MOTU 16A interface with 16 outputs. I use outputs 1 & 2 for my main mix audio out of Cubase Pro 10.5. I would like to send my click track to outputs 3 & 4 of that same interface but I cannot find a way to do it simply. I can conceive of methods like setting up a VST instrument track for the click and then route that directly out 3 & 4 but I was hoping there was some native way to send my click out 3 & 4. I’ve rummaged through the Cubase menus and I can’t find a way to do it. Sending click out 3&4 would give me some good control in sending the click to the headphone cues. Perhaps this might be a topic for your Q&A?? – BM

    1. Hello Bob,

The Control Room will be your friend in this case. You need to work with CUES in Cubase and Setup a Cue Mix to Out 3-4 from the Control Room Tab in Audio Connection. Then, that Cue Mix will be available from the Control Room from the Right Zone. You will ten be able to send the Cubase Click to that Cue Mix directly which will get out of ch 3-4 from your interface. Here’s an old video where I talk about Cue Mixes in Cubase https://youtu.be/sB55lEEuT2s
