Gain staging is in my opinion, a very important step to follow for a better mix. What is gain staging? Gain Staging is balancing the amount of gain in your signal path to prevent the introduction of noise and distortion.
In this video, I will show you the steps I do to gain stage properly in my DAW (Cubase). Proper gain staging will give you more control during mixing by giving you more headroom to mix and bring the best out of your plugins.
Today I want to introduce you to my very good friend Jean-Micaël Pothier. Jean-Micaël is my #1 bass player for live and studio work. We have been working together on a lot of productions for the past 10 years and today we will record a bass track in his home studio. Jean-Micaël does a lot of work online so if you need a bass track for your projects, feel free to get in touch with him. www.jmicpothier.com
During a recording session, sending a mix to a musician is a very important step. A good headphone mix often translates to a better performance. In Cubase 8.5 this function is called the CUE MIX. In this video, I’ll show you how to use the CUE MIX feature from the Control Room in Cubase 8.5.
Hello, my name is Chris Selim. I'm a music producer, recording/mix engineer, and owner of Mixdown Online. Having produced and mixed artists globally in Canada, USA, France, Belgium, and Switzerland,
I've gained substantial experience in diverse musical genres, making online production and mixing second nature. I work out of my recording studio near Montreal, Canada.
My goal is to share my experience with you, giving you tools that I wish I had when I first started. So feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions or comments. Hope you Enjoy!
