MONO vs MONO/STEREO Plugins (Cubase vs Protools)

MONO vs MONO/STEREO Plugins (Cubase vs Protools)

Last weekend I got a very interesting question from one of my Youtube followers:

There is one thing that always confuses the heck out of me in Cubase and that is when to use waves Mono vs Mono/Stereo flavors of their plugins. Could you maybe make a video on this? Mono / Stereo Routing is probably one of my weak points in Cubase I often end up with mono tracks (guitar / vocals) being wrongly stereo balanced because of a mono/stereo plugin. I almost think it’s best to always route to a stereo group channel and then use stereo FX, especially when it comes to things like Reverb / Chorus which work in stereo.

This can be confusing at some point. In this video I will explain to you why plugins companies like Waves has a mono/stereo versions of their plugins and if Cubase supports this or not. I will show the different approach that a DAW like Protools has in that regard. I hope you enjoy!
