How to work with the dspMixFx in CUBASE and other DAWs

Hi guys,

The dspMixFx is a software that is provided with some Steinberg sound interfaces like the UR-RT4 that allows you to setup a monitor mix (or more) using dsp fx without any latency.  In this video, I show you how to work with the dspMixFx so you can record and monitor yourself with FX and no latency in CUBASE and any DAWs.

As always, please subscribe to my Youtube channel if you’re not already!

Cheers

  1. Hi Chris , Hello from a Greek Island where I live! Thanks again for all your videos. I bought the urt rt4 and have cubase 7.5. The input channels show the small mixer cutoff on the right side and only the reverb works. Steinberg said 7.5 is not supported after saying it works with cubase. Want to sell the upgrade to 10, but can’t afford it now. If there is any solution to this that you know, please let me know. The effects work as plugins but not on the mixer console. If you hear of any solutions please let me know!. Kim Starner

  2. HEy Chris. I’m assuming that hardware option is only available in C10 as I’ve not seen it before. I’m running 9.5. Also since we both use the Lynx Aurora 16, will the Lynx mixer show in the hardware tab as the UR-RT4 does in this presentation? Thanks in advance

    1. The hardware option is there since version 8 but I’m not sure but definitely not new to 10. This will only work with the dspMixFx and not other interfaces like our Lynx.
I use the Lynx mixer as a standalone app and to be honest with you, I like it better this way.

      1. If you don’t mind could you email me your setup to work this way with the Lynx mixer as a standalone. I can access the mixer but I cannot get it to stay on top when running Cubase. I run out of my Lynx into a Dangerous 2 Bus lt
        Thanks
        Michael
