How to MASTER your MUSIC in CUBASE 11

Mastering can be very confusing for a lot of self produced musicians and home studios. Let me share with you what you need to know on Mastering your Music using nothing but Cubase 11 (works also for any DAW). This will give you a very good starting point if you’re new to mastering and looking on mastering your own music.

* CORRECTION At 12:00 I used Volume automation to balance the dynamics. My intention was to use Gain Automation, sorry my bad. The way I did it in the video will not change the amount of signal going in the Limiter which is defying the purpose but Gain automation or Clip Gain will. However, Volume (Fader) automation will work well if the Limiter is on the Master channel instead of the Audio channel or if the Limiter is POST FADER. Let me know if you have any questions.

    hey Chris, bonjour!
Been enjoying your presentations for about a year. JUST found out you do Christian music!
I am just starting on my fourth (and fifth) Gospel album, and may consider you to do final tweeks on mix and then master.
Wondering if you would be interested. Working on Cubase 10.5 PRO.
    Blessings
    Keith

    1. Thanks Keith for asking, but I’m not taking any more mixing/mastering client work for the moment.
Working on my own music this year 🙂
