Intelligent EQ? (GULLFOSS Tutorial and Giveaway) - Plugin Friday

Today on PLUGIN FRIDAY, we are gonna look at GULLFOSS, an intelligent EQ that will balance frequencies automatically and in real-time. It’s actually pretty impressive.
Gullfoss will work on MAC and Windows. Note that Gullfoss will only work using an iLok USB key. (not included)

    Hi Chris, thanks for a very interesting run-through. Normal EQ is easy to understand, but intelligent EQ is far from it when Recover and Tame are battling it out according to the bias setting. Without understanding there’s a big danger that users will simply fiddle about unintelligently in the hope that a mix will sound better, and that can’t be a good thing. My hope is that in time users will grasp how to get what they’re aiming for from it, but from what I’ve seen I wouldn’t trust myself to do that yet.

      You’re right, there is a danger to work with this without understanding. In the end, people need to use their ears when mixing, an intelligent EQ is a tool like anything else, if you don’t know the tools you work with and what you want to achieve with them, they risk of hurting your mix more than helping.
