You probably saw a bunch of videos on the new Cubase update since it came out. Let me know what new features you like the most and if you’re planning on upgrading or not 🙂

As always, please subscribe to my Youtube channel if you like what you see; let’s get these helpful tips out there so better mixes are made!

  1. Best upgrade of Cubase so far!
Yes I like also those things you mentioned
and also that they made new look of their old ugly plugins.
I updated yesterday so I haven´t tested so far yet,
now I just check info on Youtube about 10.

  2. Bon jour Chris, just upgraded last week. Can’t wait to use the vocal alignment trick. Two things I noticed that you did not mention: The dialog boxes are much more user friendly and latency issues – at least on my system – have all but vanished. I have 2 questions: I’ve always wondered about module order in a channel strip. Is there a rule of thumb? ie EQ, then Compression, etc. Also I’m working with a mix engineer who uses pro tools. So, I’ve been converting all tracks to audio, then bouncing each to a folder – pretty sure I learned this from your video. You mentioned OAF and AAF above. I don’t know what these are. Should I look into that as an alternative to what I’m doing now?

    Thank you!
    Peace, Birks

    1. Hey Birks! AAF is way better than OMF and will help you to receive or send a Cubase project to a collaborator that works with another DAW. All audio tracks and events are preserved, complete with volume and pan. Not the MIDI… For your channel strip question, there are no rules…n my side I do my correction EQ before compression than my enhancement EQ after but again it depends what I’m mixing.
